Kyrgyzstan and Japan Discussed the Early Warning System for Earthquakes
According to information from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, issues of cooperation in the field of disaster risk reduction were discussed, as well as opportunities to enhance the ministry's effectiveness through the implementation of modern solutions for early warning.
Particular attention was paid to the development of an early warning system for earthquakes, which will allow for the prompt informing of the population of Kyrgyzstan and neighboring countries in Central Asia about potential natural disasters.
Representatives of the Japanese side expressed their readiness to support this initiative and participate in the implementation of joint projects.
In addition, successful cooperation on previously implemented projects that contributed to strengthening the capabilities of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and reducing risks from natural disasters was discussed.
