The rare Kyrgyz tulip reached the finals of the global environmental competition in the USA
The Kyrgyz tulip, a variety of Tulipa anadroma, has become one of the finalists in the international voting of the Uproar Conservation Challenge organized by the Indianapolis Zoo (USA).

This is not just an ordinary vote: this initiative aims to support vulnerable species of animals and plants around the world, including rare fungi.
The voting format resembles a tournament where species "compete" against each other. Only four candidates remain in the final stage, among which is the Kyrgyz tulip, which grows exclusively in Kyrgyzstan.
The main goal of participation is funding. The winner of the competition will be awarded a grant of $10,000 for species conservation and scientific research. The total support fund exceeds $50,000, which ensures assistance to all participants.
The ecology of the Kyrgyz tulip raises concerns among specialists, as this species is threatened with extinction due to flower picking, livestock grazing, and climate change. Winning the vote could draw attention to the issues of protecting this plant on the international stage.

The voting takes place online and is available for participation every day. The final stage will last until early April, after which the winner will be announced.

The organizers of the competition urge support for the Kyrgyz tulip, which represents Kyrgyzstan on the global environmental platform.
