A rare tulip from Kyrgyzstan continues its fight in an international competition

The upward-reaching tulip, representing the flora of Kyrgyzstan and currently endangered, has successfully advanced to the next stage of an international competition dedicated to rare species of plants and animals. This competition is organized by the Indianapolis Zoo, located in the USA.

From March 16 to 19, the first round took place, during which the Kyrgyz tulip gathered enough votes to continue participating. According to the organizers, the voting involved about 250,000 participants, drawing attention to the rare plant and Kyrgyzstan as a whole.

The editorial team of VB.KG expresses gratitude to everyone who supported the voting. Thanks to your activity, the tulip was able to overcome the first stage and demonstrate its value on the international stage.

The second round of the competition started on March 20 and will last until March 23, 2026, during which voting can be done once a day. You can support the tulip on the 11th page of the official website.

The editorial team urges all participants to continue voting and share information about the competition with friends and family to increase the tulip's chances of reaching the finals.

The next rounds of voting will take place from March 24 to 26 and from March 27 to 29, with the super final scheduled for the period from March 30 to April 3, 2026.

In case of victory, the organizers will provide financial support for projects aimed at preserving this unique species.

The upward-reaching tulip is endangered for a number of reasons, including the collection of plants by tourists and locals, grazing livestock, as well as the digging up and sale of bulbs. Participation in the voting is crucial for drawing attention to the issues of preserving Kyrgyzstan's natural heritage.
