In the capital of Kyrgyzstan, signs with QR codes for municipal parking are being actively installed on the streets, and the corresponding zones are functioning normally.
According to information provided by the press service of the Bishkek mayor's office, which is working in cooperation with the municipal enterprise "City Road Transport Infrastructure," the parking zones where QR codes are placed are fully ready for service. Payment for parking is made by scanning the code through mobile devices.
On Erkindik Boulevard and Tynystanova Street, the installation of road signs with information about parking rules and QR codes for cashless payment is ongoing.
According to the proposed resolution, it was planned to implement hourly billing for these parking lots (from 30 to 50 soms for the first two hours and 20 soms for each subsequent hour); however, this issue is still under consideration and has not received final approval.
Currently, payment is collected in a lump sum from 08:00 to 20:00.
City authorities emphasize that the implementation of the new system is aimed at optimizing parking space and increasing the transparency of the payment process in the urban environment.
