The Bishkek city administration plans to change the payment system for municipal parking lots and spaces in the city. This information was announced by representatives of the city administration.
The aim of this initiative is to organize the parking space in the capital, reduce the load on the road network, and create comfortable conditions for the operation of public transport. To this end, a draft resolution of the Bishkek City Council has been developed, titled "On Issues of Regulating the Activities of Municipal Parking Lots and Spaces in the City of Bishkek."
According to this draft, the following is proposed:
- approval of a new Regulation on municipal parking lots and spaces in the city;
- establishment of new tariffs for parking vehicles;
- introduction of a special tariff for parking lots equipped with automated payment and time tracking systems (hourly payment).
A differentiated (zonal) parking payment system is planned to be implemented in the city center. The fee will vary from 30 to 50 soms (fixed amount) depending on the location.
For parking lots with an automated time tracking system, the following hourly rates are provided:
- from 30 to 50 soms for the first two hours;
- 20 soms for each subsequent hour.
“The implementation of an automated system will significantly improve parking administration, reduce cases of prolonged use of spaces in high-demand areas, and create conditions for the phased modernization of parking infrastructure,” the city administration noted in a statement.
