During the event, the mayor planted saplings of plane trees, emphasizing the importance of careful monitoring of watering and care for the young trees.
“Our efforts will bear fruit only with proper care for the planted vegetation,” noted Junushaliev.
Since the beginning of spring, about 6 thousand trees and shrubs have already been planted in Bishkek.
To date, the nursery of MP “Bishkekzelenstroy” already has 93 thousand saplings.
The city hall also reminded that the survival rate of the greenery planted in 2025 was 86 percent. This year, the city authorities are intensifying efforts to green the capital and are calling on residents and organizations to participate in activities for landscaping and caring for green areas.
It should be noted that Bishkek is currently undergoing a two-month campaign dedicated to landscaping, sanitation, and greening.
On March 28, about 4,200 organizations and more than 37,000 residents participated in a citywide cleanup day.
As a result, 624 hectares were cleaned, 330 tons of garbage were removed, trees were whitewashed, and 33.82 kilometers of irrigation networks, ditches, and canals were cleared. In addition, about 500 new tree saplings were planted.
