A two-month campaign has been announced in Bishkek, which will run from March 14 to May 16, 2026. This period will be dedicated to improving the sanitary condition, greening, and beautifying the capital, according to a decree from the city hall. The activities are aimed at creating a comfortable urban environment, which will be an important step in improving infrastructure and the ecological situation.
As part of this campaign, events will be held for the sanitary cleaning of streets, parks, squares, and courtyards, as well as the planting of trees and shrubs. Additionally, there will be a focus on the improvement of public spaces and the tidying up of adjacent areas of organizations and institutions.
The city hall also calls for the participation of enterprises, organizations, and institutions of any form of ownership in these activities. Heads of administrative districts, together with municipal management, will be responsible for organizing and coordinating the work on beautification and sanitary cleaning.
They will need to ensure interaction with property owners, homeowners' associations, and the population, as well as involve public organizations and businesses in these initiatives. An important aspect will be the timely removal of solid household waste and the prevention of unauthorized landfills, as well as monitoring the sanitary condition of areas, including markets.
According to paragraph 168 of the Rules for the Beautification of the City of Bishkek, approved by the decision of the city council on August 29, 2025, No. 150, all enterprises, organizations, and citizens are obliged to participate in the monthly sanitary cleaning and beautification of the assigned and adjacent territory.
Thus, the two-month campaign will contribute to creating a cleaner and greener city of Bishkek, improving its appearance and conditions for residents.
