The State Center for Registration of Vehicles and Driver's Licenses, operating under the Office of the President of Kyrgyzstan, has announced that the deadline for the free replacement of indefinite driver's licenses will end on March 31.
Starting April 1, a fee of 1,389 soms will be charged for the replacement of licenses. Citizens will be able to exchange their licenses without the need to provide a medical certificate in the form 083 until the end of the current year.
As part of this initiative, according to information from the "Unaa" institution, over 335,000 driver's licenses have been updated across the country.
Last year, in the fall, a decision was made to abolish indefinite driver's licenses and introduce new ones valid for 10 years. Licenses issued from 2009 to 2012 will remain valid until 2027.
Initially, a medical examination was required for the replacement of indefinite licenses, which led to long queues in hospitals. As a result, this requirement was canceled.
