The Bishkek City Court has sent the case for a new review, overturning the previous verdict.
In Bishkek, the city court annulled the decision of the October District Court regarding the case of former mayor of Tokmak Maksat Nusuvaliyev, sending it back for reconsideration in the district court.
As a result of this decision, Maksat Nusuvaliyev and other participants in the case were released, and they were assigned a preventive measure in the form of house arrest.
It is worth noting that earlier the October District Court found Nusuvaliyev guilty of corruption crimes, sentencing him to 13 years in prison with confiscation of property.
Before becoming the mayor of Tokmak in May 2023, Nusuvaliyev held the position of head of the Department of Transport and Road Infrastructure Development of the Bishkek City Hall.
