The city court overturned the sentence of the former mayor of Tokmok. The case has been sent for review.

The Bishkek City Court overturned the decision of the Oktyabrsky District Court regarding Maksat Nusuvaliyev, who previously held the position of mayor of Tokmok. The criminal case will be reconsidered in the district court.

According to information from the Bishkek City Court, Nusuvaliyev and other defendants have been released from custody.
They are now subject to house arrest.
It is worth noting that the Oktyabrsky Court had previously found Nusuvaliyev guilty and sentenced him to 13 years in prison with confiscation of property. Three other defendants received 12 years each, and one received 11 years.

Maksat Nusuvaliyev was detained on June 24, 2025, during a meeting involving the then-head of the State National Security Committee, Kamchybek Tashiev. Along with him, the head of the municipal property management department of the mayor's office and the director of a contracting organization were also detained. Investigative authorities reported the presence of corrupt actions in the process of improving the city park and renovating the sports school.

Maksat Nusuvaliyev was appointed mayor of Tokmok in May 2023. Previously, he headed the Department of Transport and Development of Road Transport Infrastructure in Bishkek.
