On March 10, the Bishkek City Court's board decided to overturn the verdict of the Oktyabrsky District Court, issued on November 6, 2025, regarding Maksat Nusuvaliyev, the former mayor of Tokmok, and other defendants. The case will be reviewed in the court of first instance.

In court, it was reported that the preventive measure for Nusuvaliyev and the other defendants has been changed from detention to house arrest at their place of residence.

It is worth recalling that on June 24, 2025, the head of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB), Kamchybek Tashiev, held a meeting in Tokmok, where, among other things, a decision was made to remove Maksat Nusuvaliyev from office and initiate a criminal case for significant damage to the state. The GKNB clarified that the case concerns the improvement of the park and the repair of the city's sports school, with the total amount of state procurement exceeding 61 million soms (16.4 million for the school and 44.283 million for the park).

As a result, Nusuvaliyev and his subordinates received sentences of 12 and 13 years in prison for corrupt actions.
