The first online broadcast of a court hearing was held in Bishkek

Among the cases that were broadcast was a criminal case related to domestic violence. The broadcast was conducted on the official YouTube channel of the "Supreme Court," as reported by the press service of the Supreme Court of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Present at the hearing were the Deputy Head of the Supreme Court Apparatus Aman Jumaliev and the Deputy Minister of Justice Aibek Aydarov.

It is known that amendments were made to the Criminal Procedure Code, which define the concepts of "video conferencing" and "online broadcasting." These amendments establish the right of defendants and other participants in the process to familiarize themselves with the minutes of the hearings, including audio and video recordings, as well as the possibility to submit comments on them. An option has been introduced to petition for hearings to be conducted using video communication or live broadcasting via television, radio, or the internet.

Considering the new amendments, the court may allow the real-time broadcasting of a hearing at the initiative of the parties or at its own discretion. This is done to ensure transparency, the interests of justice, and the safety of participants. Paragraph 18 has been added to Article 46, allowing participants to submit petitions for the broadcasting of court hearings on television, radio, or the internet. Additionally, Part 3 of Article 280 has been supplemented with Paragraph 5, allowing broadcasting through mass media or online in real-time format.

According to Article 290-1 of the Criminal Procedure Code, the court has the right, upon the petition of the participants in the case or on its own initiative, to permit online broadcasting of the hearing. The decision on the possibility of broadcasting is made by the court taking into account the interests of justice, openness, and the safety of participants. These measures are aimed at increasing the transparency of the judicial process, strengthening public trust in the judicial system, as well as ensuring openness and enhancing legal culture among the population. They allow for remote observation of judicial proceedings, disciplining participants in the process, and contributing to reducing bureaucracy and increasing access to justice.
