In Bishkek, the first online broadcast of a court hearing on domestic violence was held
One of the key cases is a criminal proceeding related to instances of domestic violence.
Present at the meeting were Aman Jumaliev, Deputy Head of the Supreme Court's Office, and Aibek Aydarov, Deputy Minister of Justice of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The Supreme Court noted that amendments were made to the Criminal Procedure Code of Kyrgyzstan, which defined the concepts of "video conferencing" and "online broadcasting of court sessions".
According to the new amendments, all participants in the process, including the accused, have the right to familiarize themselves with the protocols of court sessions, as well as to access audio and video recordings and submit their comments. Furthermore, they can request that sessions be held using video communication or live broadcasting - on television, radio, or the internet.
The court also has the right, on its own initiative or at the request of the participants in the process, to allow online broadcasting of the session, taking into account the interests of justice, the principle of openness, and the safety of all participants.
It is emphasized that the implementation of such mechanisms is aimed at improving the transparency of the judicial process, strengthening public trust in the judicial system, as well as enhancing the openness and accessibility of justice.
