On February 28, Israel and the USA carried out strikes against Iran. Donald Trump announced the intention to destroy the nuclear program of the Islamic Republic.

In response, Iran began launching strikes on Israeli territory and other countries in the Middle East where US military bases and facilities are located. The strikes were directed at Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai (UAE), as well as Riyadh (Saudi Arabia).

As a result of the US-Israeli attack, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed. His wife, Mansure Khodjasteh, also died from her injuries.

Donald Trump stated that the military operation in Iran would last about four weeks. In response, Iran declared jihad against the USA and Israel, stating that negotiations would not be possible.

The conflict in the Middle East affects the entire world, including Kyrgyzstan. Currently, thousands of tourists are stranded in the UAE due to the conflict. Contact phone numbers for embassies and consulates for Kyrgyz citizens abroad can be found here.
