The head of the Land Use Control Department of the Bishkek city administration, Atai Muratbek, informed the news agency "Kabar" about the start of demolition work in the area of the Central Universal Store (ЦУМ) at the direction of Mayor Aibek Junushaliev.
He also added that the developer was given a three-day period for voluntary demolition of the structure, which was not fulfilled.
“The operation involves 20 people and 8 units of specialized equipment. All necessary safety measures are being observed. The costs of the demolition will be recovered from the developer in accordance with the established procedure. The mayor has set a one-week deadline for the completion of all work. Representatives of the contracting organization expressed their readiness to begin dismantling the structure themselves during the demolition,” noted Muratbek.
