In Bishkek, a celebration was held for children suffering from cancer, organized by the charity fund Help the Children-SKD, coinciding with the Maslenitsa week. According to the organizers, the event titled "Pancake - a Symbol of the Sun!" was conceived to support young patients of the National Center for Maternal and Child Health. The president of the fund, Elena Koneva, emphasized that the pancake symbolizes the sun — a symbol of warmth, hope, and generosity.
She stated that preserving the spirit of the holiday means not only joy but also the opportunity to do good deeds that provide children with support and faith in a better future. The festive atmosphere was created by the "Souvenir" ensemble, which operates under the Culture Department of the Bishkek City Hall. The musicians performed songs in Kyrgyz and Russian, delighting the attendees with lively melodies and vibrant dances, which contributed to strengthening cultural ties.
As a result of joint efforts, 125 children, their parents, and medical staff were able to enjoy pancakes and recharge with positive emotions and a spring mood.
