The National Center for the Protection of Motherhood and Childhood reported that its nephrologist, Nasir Beishev, is now under house arrest. This information was confirmed by lawyer Yevgeniya Krapivina, who informed the editorial office of Kaktus.media. The decision was made by the Pervomaisky District Court.

As is known, on February 18, a nephrologist, candidate of medical sciences, and associate professor Beishev was detained in Bishkek. The Bishkek City Police Department clarified that the detention occurred following a complaint from the mother of a patient, who claims that a medical error led to the amputation of her daughter's right leg in 2024.

A criminal case has been initiated under part 2 of article 146 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, concerning "Improper performance of professional duties by a medical or pharmaceutical worker, resulting in serious harm through negligence."

The suspect has been charged and placed in the temporary detention facility of the Bishkek City Police Department.

The staff of the National Center for the Protection of Motherhood and Childhood appealed to the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, through a video message, urging for an objective investigation of the case. The medical professionals also requested the court to consider a preventive measure not related to arrest.

Health Minister Kanbek Dosmambetov emphasized the importance of a thorough and impartial examination of the case.

The National Center for the Protection of Motherhood and Childhood also shared details about the treatment of the girl prior to the amputation.
