Citizens in need of assistance can contact the ministry
As of January 1, 2026, in the management of the Ministry of Labor, Social Protection, and Migration of the Kyrgyz Republic, including urban, district, and inter-district structures, 854 social workers provide assistance to 9,452 people in need of social support. This group includes:
* 3,819 lonely elderly individuals;
* 2,313 people with disabilities;
* 350 married couples;
* 2,971 families in difficult life situations.
These specialists assist not only the elderly living alone but also citizens with limited mobility, couples, and families facing challenging circumstances. They provide support in resolving everyday issues and ensure psychological and social assistance.
Each social service worker visits their clients at least twice a week according to a schedule approved by the management. This approach helps ensure quality care and timely assistance to those in need.
To receive home assistance, a written request must be submitted from local self-government bodies, neighbors, or relatives of the person in need. The Ministry of Labor, Social Protection, and Migration continues to improve its social services, making them more accessible and of higher quality.
