Bektur Zulpiyev, recently appointed as the representative of the president and the government in parliament, presented the candidacy of Jumgalbek Shabdanbekov for the position of chairman of the State Committee for National Security. This took place at a meeting of the committee on constitutional legislation, state structure, local self-government, and the regulations of the Jogorku Kenesh.
Zulpiyev noted that Shabdanbekov was born in 1970 in the Naryn region, specifically in the Jumgal district. He has a higher education and graduated from the Kyrgyz State National University in 1991. Since the beginning of his professional career in 1991, he has been working in the GKNB since 1994, holding various responsible positions.
“Shabdanbekov has experience in counterintelligence and has also worked for many years in the State Guard Service, the Anti-Terrorism Center, and the Anti-Corruption Service. Since 2020, he has held the position of deputy chairman of the 9th department,” Zulpiyev added.
The candidacy was approved by the deputies without discussion.
