Citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic with foreign rights to be required to register

In Kyrgyzstan, a new draft law aimed at improving road safety has been presented for public discussion, concerning amendments to existing laws.

According to the proposal, citizens of Kyrgyzstan holding foreign driver's licenses will be required to undergo mandatory registration with the authorities responsible for the registration of vehicles and drivers.

Amendments to the Law "On Road Traffic in the Kyrgyz Republic" will prohibit the operation of vehicles on the territory of the country with foreign driver's licenses if they have not been registered within the established timeframes.

The Cabinet of Ministers will determine the procedure and deadlines for registration.
Additionally, a new article 184-1 is proposed to be introduced into the Code of Offenses, which stipulates the following fines for late registration of foreign driver's licenses:


The initiators of the draft law emphasize that these changes are aimed at simplifying the accounting of drivers and enhancing control over road safety.
