In connection with the resignation of the head of the GKNB of the Kyrgyz Republic, attempts to discredit the work of national security agencies have begun to appear in the information space. According to the agency's press service, the interpretations and statements being disseminated are one-sided and aimed at undermining citizens' trust in state structures. Employees of national security agencies are subordinate to the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the KR.
According to the press service, the activities of national security agencies are carried out in strict accordance with the Constitution and current legislation, based on the principles of legality, objectivity, and accountability to society. The main task of the agency is to ensure the security of the state, protect the rights and freedoms of citizens, and counter threats, including terrorism, extremism, and corruption.
“We are confident that all questions and doubts should be discussed exclusively within the framework of the law, based on facts and verified information. Attempts to undermine the reputation of state structures without providing evidence harm not only the agency itself but also the level of trust in society as a whole,” the agency noted.
The GKNB called on the public, the media, and high-ranking officials to refrain from harsh criticism of the agency's employees, who diligently and responsibly fulfill their duties. “The work to ensure the country's security will continue consistently and in accordance with all principles, in the interests of the people and the state,” the statement added.
