The State National Security Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic (GKNB) announced that there are attempts by certain interested groups to discredit the work of the special services. This information was voiced by the press service of the GKNB.
In light of recent events related to the resignation of the head of the GKNB, actions aimed at undermining the authority of the national security agencies of the country are observed in the media space. The information being disseminated appears to be one-sided and aimed at reducing citizens' trust in government institutions. Employees of the GKNB are subordinate to the Supreme Commander of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The activities of the national security agencies are carried out strictly in accordance with the Constitution and current legislation, which implies adherence to the principles of legality, objectivity, and accountability to society. The main goal of the agency is to ensure the security of the state, protect the constitutional rights of citizens, and counter threats such as terrorism, extremism, and corruption.
The Committee emphasizes that all questions and doubts should be resolved within the legal framework, based on facts and verified information. Attempts to undermine the reputation of state structures without providing substantial evidence harm not only the specific agency but also the overall level of trust in society.
In this regard, the GKNB calls on the public, the media, and high-ranking officials to refrain from excessive criticism of GKNB employees who responsibly perform their duties.
The work to ensure the security of the country will continue consistently and principled, in the interests of the people and the state," the GKNB added.
