Import of animals from India to Kyrgyzstan temporarily restricted due to Nipah virus
From January 28, 2025, temporary restrictions on the import of animals and animal products from India have been introduced in Kyrgyzstan. This decision was made by the Veterinary Service, Development of Animal Husbandry, Pastures, and Feed in light of the detection of the Nipah virus, as reported by the Ministry of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan.
In order to ensure the veterinary and sanitary safety of the country, such measures are necessary, considering the danger posed by the Nipah virus, which is transmitted from animals to humans.
The Veterinary Service strongly recommends that citizens avoid purchasing animal products without the necessary veterinary documents and pay special attention to the sources from which these products originate.
The situation is under strict monitoring by the relevant services to ensure the health of the population and animals.
