- From January 28, 2025, temporary restrictions introduced by the Veterinary Service for Animal Husbandry, Pastures, and Feed under the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Food Processing Industry will come into effect. These measures concern the import of animals from the Republic of India that may be susceptible to the Nipah virus, as well as animal products, the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture reports.

These measures were taken in response to the detection of the Nipah virus and are aimed at protecting veterinary and sanitary safety in the country.

The statement also emphasizes that "the Nipah virus is a serious zoonotic infection capable of being transmitted from animals to humans." The service strongly recommends that citizens avoid purchasing animal products of questionable origin and pay attention to the presence of veterinary accompanying documents.
