Starting from January 28, temporary restrictions on the import of animals susceptible to the Nipah virus, as well as animal products from India, have come into effect in Kyrgyzstan. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Water Resources and Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The agency clarified that such measures were taken in response to the registration of cases of the Nipah virus in order to ensure veterinary and sanitary safety in the country.

The Nipah virus is a dangerous zoonotic infection that can be transmitted from animals to humans. Veterinary specialists strongly recommend that the population avoid purchasing livestock products without proper veterinary documents and pay attention to their origin.
