As of January 28, 2026, temporary measures regarding the import of animals from India affected by the Nipah virus have come into force in Kyrgyzstan. This decision was made by the veterinary service, as well as the department for the development of animal husbandry, pastures, and feed. The press service of the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry reported this.

These measures are due to a recent outbreak of the Nipah virus in India, aimed at maintaining veterinary and sanitary safety in the country.

Citizens are advised to avoid purchasing unfamiliar animal products and to carefully check for veterinary documents.

The situation is under constant monitoring by the veterinary service.
