In the Jogorku Kenesh, it was proposed to fine those who drive without catalytic converters.

The penalties will also apply to hiding violations

The initiator of the new bill aimed at tightening environmental standards for vehicles is Deputy Marlen Mamataliyev. According to the proposal, vehicle owners will be required to have functioning catalytic converters, particulate filters, and other devices that reduce the toxicity of exhaust gases.

The inspection of the presence and condition of these systems will become a mandatory part of the vehicle technical inspection.

Vehicles without the necessary devices will not be allowed to operate, and violators can expect fines ranging from 10,000 to 35,000 soms.

In addition, penalties are provided for both drivers and diagnostic centers for falsifying documents or concealing environmental malfunctions.
