The Housing Committee has approved the appointment of a new head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

On March 11, the deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh approved the appointment of Kanatbek Chynybaev as the Minister of Emergency Situations.

As reported by Bektur Zulpiyev, representing the president and government in parliament, Chynybaev was born on November 4, 1983, in Kara-Balta, located in the Chui region. In 2006, he graduated from the Kyrgyz State Technical University named after I. Razakov, and in 2018 from the Academy of Civil Defense of Russia. From 2006 to 2008, he worked in various divisions of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, then continued his career in the central office of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. From July 15, 2022, to February 2026, he held a position in the Situational Center of the President's Administration and was a state inspector. In February, he was appointed Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations.

The deputies expressed a request to Chynybaev to increase the number of special vehicles and headquarters, as well as to enhance drainage works near populated areas and ensure compliance with fire safety regulations in new high-rise buildings.

During the voting, the parliament approved the candidacy: 81 deputies voted in favor, and none against.

It is worth noting that Urmat Shamyrcanov was relieved of his duties as head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations due to corruption allegations.
