The government is preparing for the agricultural census
At a coordination meeting dedicated to the upcoming agricultural census, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry Erlis Akunbekov urged citizens of Kyrgyzstan not to conceal information about their livestock.
Akunbekov noted that some citizens may not understand the true purpose of this census and, as a result, fear revealing the number of their livestock, poultry, or the state of their farms. This is related to the misconception that such data could lead to denial of social benefits or taxation.
The minister emphasized that the agricultural census is extremely important for accurately accounting for livestock in the country. Reliable data is necessary for timely vaccination of animals, adequate planning of veterinary activities, and ensuring a sufficient supply of vaccines.
The agricultural census in Kyrgyzstan is scheduled from March 20 to April 10. Local self-government bodies and territorial statistical offices will participate in its organization.
During the census, data will be collected on sown areas, pastures, farm buildings, yards, as well as on livestock and poultry.
