The Minister of Agriculture urged farmers to honestly report livestock numbers
At the coordination meeting dedicated to the preparation for the upcoming agricultural census, the Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, Erlis Akunbekov, urged farmers to honestly report the number of their livestock.
He noted that some citizens may not realize the true objectives of the census and, fearing possible consequences such as denial of social benefits or taxation, conceal information about the number of their domestic animals and the state of their farms.
According to the minister, accurate data on livestock numbers is very important for ensuring timely vaccination of animals, planning veterinary activities, and providing the necessary volumes of vaccines.
Erlis Akunbekov emphasized that during the census, it is essential to provide truthful information about the number of livestock, the condition of farms, and the areas of land plots.
He also highlighted that the results of the agricultural census are critical for effective planning of agricultural policy and the overall national economy.
The agricultural census in Kyrgyzstan is scheduled from March 20 to April 10. Local self-government bodies and territorial statistical units will participate in its implementation.
During the census, sown areas, pastures, farm buildings, yards, as well as the number of domestic animals and poultry will be accounted for.
