The Security of Kyrgyz Citizens in the Conflict Zone in the Middle East Discussed by the Security Council

An operational meeting dedicated to the worsening situation in the Middle East and the safety of citizens of Kyrgyzstan in that area was held by the Secretary of the Security Council Adilet Orozbekov. Information about this was received from the presidential administration.

During the meeting, attention was focused on coordinating the actions of state structures, with particular emphasis on those who found themselves in the zone of military operations.

Orozbekov emphasized the need for urgent measures to protect citizens and organize their safe return to their homeland.

He also ordered round-the-clock monitoring of the situation in the region until it stabilizes.

The Secretary of the Security Council noted the importance of the hotlines that will operate based on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and foreign institutions to provide consulting and practical services to compatriots.

“It is our duty to ensure the safety of citizens, both those in the conflict zone and those experiencing difficulties at airports due to the closure of airspace,” he summarized.

The conflict began on February 28, when Israel and the United States launched a series of air and missile strikes against Iran, which led to retaliatory attacks by Tehran on Israel and American military bases in the region. In the first hours of the conflict, high-ranking Iranian officials were killed. Following the commencement of operations, U.S. President Donald Trump announced the start of a military campaign called "Epic Fury."

Additionally, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed, along with several high-profile officials from Tehran.
