At working meetings with the Minister of Energy of Russia, Sergey Tsivilev, and representatives of the company "RusHydro," the presence of Alexey Shirshov, former financial director of OJSC "Severelektro" and former chairman of OJSC "TNK Dastan," is deemed necessary. This is related to the pragmatic interests of the state and the need for expert support in the complex negotiation process.
Daniyar Amangeldiev, the first deputy chairman of the cabinet of ministers, commented on Shirshov's participation in discussions regarding the construction of the Upper Naryn Cascade of Hydroelectric Power Stations and issues in the fuel sector that took place in Moscow.
According to him, "the involvement of Alexey Shirshov is due to his deep knowledge of the project's nuances since 2008. His understanding of the history of the issue and the details of the initial agreements is extremely important for forming a reasoned position for the Kyrgyz side in negotiations with 'RusHydro.' We are utilizing all available resources to advance the project and protect the economic interests of the republic in the energy sector," emphasized Amangeldiev.
It is also worth noting that the publication of a photograph from the meeting on the website of the Ministry of Energy of Russia sparked public discussions. Alexey Shirshov is a close friend of Maxim Bakiyev, the son of former Kyrgyz President Kurmanbek Bakiyev, who is associated with corruption schemes in the energy sector.
