According to Torobaev, these funds will be directed towards the following works:
- cleaning and repairing 776 kilometers of canals;
- concreting 657.4 thousand square meters (112.6 kilometers) of canals;
- restoring and repairing 590 hydraulic structures;
- updating 508 water measurement posts;
- repairing 91 pumping stations and 170 pumping units;
- updating 46 pumping units;
- installing 1,500 electronic devices for water measurement control;
- cleaning 225 kilometers of the collector-drainage system.
In 2025, 15,051 wells were registered in the republic, of which 308 were checked, and 50 of them were put into operation. In the upcoming 2026 year, the commissioning of another 83 new wells is expected.
The minister also reported that currently, there are 498 reservoirs in the country with a total design capacity of 1 billion 757 million cubic meters. However, the actual volume of accumulated water is 939.3 million cubic meters, which is 443.3 million cubic meters, or 32 percent, less than last year.
In 2026, planting works are planned on an area of 1 million 250 thousand hectares, of which 885 thousand hectares are irrigated lands. To irrigate them, an average supply of 6.3 billion cubic meters of water will be required 4-5 times per season.
To prepare water management facilities for the irrigation season, it is planned to attract 203 units of equipment from the water resources service and about 1,000 units from local aiyl okmotu.
