Authorities want to ban the export of limestone-shell rock from Kyrgyzstan for six months.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan has initiated a discussion on a draft resolution regarding a temporary ban on the export of limestone-shell rock, mined or produced in the republic, beyond the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union. This ban is planned to be implemented for a period of six months.

The ban will apply to certain types of raw materials and products classified under the EAEU HS codes 2515 11 000 0 and 2515 12 000 0. In particular, this concerns unprocessed and coarsely crushed limestone-shell rock, as well as cut blocks and slabs of rectangular or square shape.

The main goal of this document is to prevent the uncontrolled export of important mineral raw materials, which will help preserve the resource base of the country and ensure stability of supplies for the domestic market.
