In Parliament, a call was made to reconsider the decision on long-term driving education.

At a recent parliamentary meeting, Deputy Dastan Bekeshev raised the issue of the duration of training required to obtain a driver's license. He mentioned that young people express dissatisfaction with the need to study for 10 to 12 months.

Bekeshev noted: “I believe this is impractical. In some countries, such as Japan, the training period is only three months, and in the USA and Georgia, even less. If we continue in the same vein and the process of obtaining a license becomes too costly, young people will be forced to go to neighboring countries for licenses, which will negatively impact our tourism sector.”

The head of the State Center for Vehicle Registration and Driver Training, Tynchbek Saidov, emphasized that the new initiative aims to improve driving culture and enhance the quality of driver training.

In response to the question from MP Bolot Ibraimov about countries where training lasts 10-12 months, Saidov was unable to provide specific examples.

Ibraimov, in turn, noted that according to his information, such a practice does not exist anywhere in the world. He added: “The main reason for traffic accidents is corruption. Previously, licenses could simply be bought, which was a result of flaws in the state system, and now we are subjecting people to excessive testing, forcing them to study for a long time. This is completely wrong, and this decision needs to be reconsidered.”
