In 5 cities of Kyrgyzstan, 11 air monitoring stations will be installed

In Kyrgyzstan, a project worth 50 million dollars is being implemented to improve air quality. This was reported on March 9 at a meeting of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh on agricultural policy, subsoil use, ecology, and environmental protection by Asel Raimkulova, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision.

During the meeting, the committee reviewed the report on the activities of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision for 2025.

According to Raimkulova, equipment has already been purchased for Kyrgyzhydromet.

She also noted that a tender is currently underway for the development of project and estimate documentation necessary for the construction of a modern information center and laboratory for air pollution analysis. The contracting process for this work is currently ongoing.

To ensure more effective air quality control, a contract has been signed for the acquisition of two mobile laboratories, the deputy minister added.

In addition, technical documentation has been prepared for the installation of 11 automatic air monitoring stations, which will be located in Bishkek, Osh, Kara-Balta, Tokmok, and Cholpon-Ata. These documents are currently under approval with the World Bank.
