At a meeting of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh on Agricultural Policy, Ecology, and Environmental Protection, Asel Raimkulova, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision, reported plans to establish 11 air monitoring stations in five cities of Kyrgyzstan.

The stations will be located in Bishkek, Osh, Kara-Balta, Tokmok, and Cholpon-Ata, and the documents are currently in the process of being coordinated with the World Bank.

The Deputy Minister also spoke about measures aimed at improving air quality in the country.

In particular, a World Bank project is being implemented with the goal of enhancing air quality, with a budget of 50 million dollars. As part of this project, the necessary equipment has already been purchased for Kyrgyzhydromet.

“Currently, a tender has been announced for the development of documentation for the creation of a modern laboratory and information center that will focus on air pollution analysis. We are also in the process of signing a contract on this matter. Additionally, a contract has been signed for the acquisition of two mobile laboratories for operational air quality monitoring,” added Asel Raimkulova.
