

A meeting took place in Bishkek between the special representative of the President of Kyrgyzstan for mining issues, Dinara Kemelova, and the head of the OSCE Program Office in Bishkek, Volker Frobarth, as reported by the President's press service.
The parties discussed plans for the current year, including the implementation of joint activities related to the mining agenda in various regions of the country.
During the conversation, special attention was given to issues of comprehensive examination of mountainous territories, data digitization, strengthening scientific potential, as well as coordinating joint activities related to the implementation of the Decade of Action for the Development of Mountain Regions, which will conclude in 2026. This plan also includes the holding of the Second Bishkek Global Mountain Summit in October 2027.
As a result of the meeting, Dinara Kemelova and Volker Frobarth confirmed their common priorities in cooperation, emphasizing the importance of institutionalizing issues related to the mountain theme in the context of global climate processes.
