Storm Warning: February 11-13, Snow Avalanches May Occur on Mountain Roads

According to information from Kyrgyzhydromet, from February 11 to 13, precipitation is expected in the mountainous regions of the country and on the highways, which may trigger avalanches, snow drifts, and also create ice.

Experts have identified the following sections of roads where avalanches may occur:

- 121-138 km of the Bishkek—Osh highway (Töö-Ashuu pass) and 198-255 km (Ala-Bel pass, Chychkan gorge);

- 45-112 km of the Ala-Buka—Kanysh-Kiya road (Chapchyma pass);

- 0-3 km of the Krasnaya Gorka—Ak-Tash road;

- 55-115 km of the Myrza-Ake—Kara-Kulja—Alaiku road;

- 97-98 km of the Sary-Tash—Daroot-Korgon—Karamyk road;

- 292-305 km of the Bishkek—Naryn—Torugart highway (Dolon pass);

- 45-90 km of the Karakol—Enilchek highway (Chon-Ashuu pass).

When passing through areas prone to avalanche danger, drivers should maintain a distance of at least 500 meters between vehicles.
