Former head of the National Bank Melisa Turgunbaeva detained in the "Kyrgyzneftegaz" case

Melissa Turgunbaeva, the former head of the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan, has been detained and placed in a temporary detention facility. This was reported by a source from the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

According to the information, on March 25, officers of the investigative service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs summoned him for questioning as a witness in a case related to the OJSC "Kyrgyzneftegaz." As a result of the investigative activities, Turgunbaeva was detained.

It is worth noting that before his appointment as head of the National Bank, Turgunbaeva held several high positions in the oil and gas sector, including serving as the chairman of the board and the board of directors of OJSC "Kyrgyzneftegaz."

Additionally, he also held the position of Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision before heading the National Bank.

The name of the former head of the National Bank has already been mentioned in the context of the investigation into possible violations in the activities of "Kyrgyzneftegaz," where he worked in leadership positions for a long time.
