Let us remind you that the journalist was detained in January 2024 along with ten colleagues from Temirov Live. They were charged with organizing mass riots. The judicial panel of the Supreme Court of Kyrgyzstan reviewed the appeal of three out of the ten detainees on February 25, 2025, and upheld the decisions of the previous instances. Mahabat Tajibek kyzy was sentenced to six years in prison, while Azamat Ishenbekov received a five-year sentence. Aike Beishikeeva was given three years of probation, and Aktilek Kaparov was also assigned three years of probation, which he did not contest. The remaining seven defendants in the case were acquitted due to lack of evidence of a crime.
The case of Mahabat Tajibek kyzy was sent for reconsideration by the Supreme Court on March 10, 2024.
