In Kyrgyzstan, the Supreme Court has overturned all previous decisions regarding Mahabat Tajibek kyzy, the head of the Temirov LIVE and "Ayt, ait dese" projects, whose activities were deemed extremist. The case is now referred to the Lenin District Court of Bishkek for a new hearing in light of newly discovered circumstances, reports Azattyk.

Thus, the highest judicial authority annulled the sentence handed down by the Lenin District Court on October 10, 2024, which sentenced Mahabat Tajibek kyzy to six years in prison. This decision was upheld by the Bishkek City Court on December 18, 2024, and by the Supreme Court on February 25, 2025.

The UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention pointed out that the arrest of the employees of the Temirov LIVE and "Ayt, ait dese" projects violates several articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. In this regard, the organization sent recommendations to the authorities of Kyrgyzstan, including the release of Mahabat Tajibek kyzy.

Tajibek kyzy's lawyer, based on the UN decisions, filed a petition for the case to be reviewed by the Supreme Court.

In January 2024, the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained 11 activists, journalists, and employees suspected in connection with the Temirov LIVE and "Ayt, ait dese" projects. They were charged under the Criminal Code article on "Mass Riots".

As a result of the proceedings, the Lenin District Court on October 10, 2024, sentenced Mahabat Tajibek kyzy to six years in prison, while Azamat Ishenbekov received five years. The other defendants, including journalists Aktilek Kaparov and Aika Beyshikeeva, were given probation, while seven individuals were acquitted.

Azamat Ishenbekov was released in April 2025 by a presidential pardon decree.

Currently, Mahabat Tajibek kyzy is serving her sentence in the women's colony No. 2 in the Chui region. She is the wife of Bolot Temirov, an investigative journalist who was convicted and expelled from the country and is currently abroad.

On October 27 of last year, the Oktyabr District Court in Bishkek, at the request of prosecutors, recognized the materials of the media projects Temirov Live, "Ayt ait dese," and "Kloop," as well as the activities of their founders — Bolot Temirov and Rinat Tukhvatshin — as extremist. As a result, their websites and pages were completely banned.

The record "The sentence of Mahabat Tajibek kyzy has been overturned by the Supreme Court for reconsideration" first appeared on K-News.
