In the Batken region, judicial measures have been initiated against a debtor evading alimony payments, who will now serve a sentence of two years, as reported by the Bailiff Service.

An enforcement order was received regarding M.U.Z., which indicated the necessity of paying alimony amounting to one third of the income in favor of the claimant.

According to the service's information, despite the measures taken, the debtor did not comply with the court's decision. The amount of alimony arrears from January 1, 2022, to September 1, 2025, totaled 313,833 soms.

In this regard, a criminal case was initiated, and investigative actions were conducted. The criminal case was forwarded to the court, where on March 12, 2026, the Batken Regional Court found M.U.Z. guilty under part 2 of Article 178 (Evasion of parental responsibilities for the support of children) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic and sentenced him to two years of imprisonment, sending him into custody directly in the courtroom.
