In Suzak, a man was sent to prison for failure to pay alimony
The enforcement proceedings concerned A.L.A., who was ordered to pay alimony for the support of his child in favor of M.M.M.
During the enforcement activities, it was established that A.L.A. had been avoiding his obligations to pay alimony for a long time. As a result, the case materials were transferred to law enforcement agencies for a decision on bringing criminal charges in accordance with Article 178 of the Criminal Code of Kyrgyzstan.
On March 11, the Suzak District Court found A.L.A. guilty under part 2 of Article 178 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, imposing a sentence of one year of imprisonment.
Part 2 of Article 178. Evasion by parents from fulfilling a court decision regarding the payment of funds for the support of a child or an adult child in need of financial assistance, with a debt that has lasted more than 12 months, is punishable by corrective labor for a term of one to three years, a fine of 500 to 1000 calculated indicators, or imprisonment for up to three years.
