According to information provided by the Bailiff Service under the Prosecutor General's Office, a man who was evading alimony payments has been sentenced to two years of imprisonment.

It was established that based on the decision of the Batken District Court dated July 3, 2017, the debtor named J.u.S. was obliged to pay 1/4 of his income to J.k.S. from April 24, 2017, until the child reaches the age of 18. Despite receiving notification of the court decision, he did not fulfill his obligations. By September 1, 2025, the amount of his alimony debt reached 501,821 soms.

In this regard, a submission was sent to the Batken City Department of Internal Affairs to assess the debtor's actions. As a result of the investigation, he was charged under part 2 of Article 178 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic ("Evasion of parental responsibilities for the maintenance of children"), and the case was forwarded to the Batken District Court.

On October 22, 2025, the first instance court found citizen A.u.J. guilty and imposed a two-year probationary supervision. However, the victim's side appealed this decision. On February 2, 2026, the Batken Regional Court overturned the verdict of the first instance, again finding the debtor A.u.J. guilty under part 2 of Article 178 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic and sentencing him to two years of imprisonment. He was taken into custody in the courtroom.
