In the Batken region, on the Kyrgyz-Tajik section of the border, an attempt to illegally move cattle was thwarted. This was reported by representatives of the State Border Service.

The incident occurred on March 12 near the village of Kara-Bak, in the vicinity of the Korgoncho area, not far from the border. Border guards, while on duty, noticed three unknown individuals attempting to drive three heads of cattle.

As a result of the border guards' prompt response, the cattle were seized. Despite an attempt to escape, one of the offenders, a 16-year-old citizen of Kyrgyzstan, S.U.K., born in 2010, was detained in the Mazar area.

Currently, active search operations are underway to identify and apprehend the other two participants. Relevant authorities have been involved in the operations.

The detained individual and the seized cattle have been handed over to the Border Service unit for further investigation and processing in accordance with the legislation of Kyrgyzstan.

The Border Service noted that violations of border regime and attempts to illegally move animals and goods across the border are subject to liability under the country's laws.
