According to the State Border Service, on February 14, an attempt to illegally drive livestock across the Kyrgyz-Tajik border outside of official checkpoints was thwarted.

The incident occurred in the Leilek district, in the vicinity of the Tajik Nasos area, where border guards detained a citizen identified as N.E.M., born in 1988.

It was revealed that this citizen was attempting to illegally transport livestock from the territory of Kyrgyzstan to the territory of Tajikistan, bypassing the established checkpoints.

During operational activities, 10 heads of cattle were seized, which were apparently intended for illegal cross-border movement.

The detainee was taken to the Border Service unit for further investigation and processing in accordance with current legislation.

The agency emphasizes that any attempts to violate the regime and illegally transport goods and animals across the border entail liability under the law.
