Activist Bermet Borubaeva and documentary operator Bulat Satarkulov have been taken for questioning at the Main Internal Affairs Department of Bishkek.

Recently, the police also summoned human rights defender Tolekan Ismailova for questioning.

According to preliminary information, the basis for the detention was a planned rally aimed at defending citizens' rights to peaceful assembly. This event was supposed to take place today in front of the administration building of the Pervomaisky district.

It should be noted that the Pervomaisky district court extended the ban on holding rallies in the city center, leaving the only permitted location for actions as the M. Gorky Park.

Bermet Borubaeva actively participates in various events aimed at protecting the rights of Bishkek citizens, particularly advocating for the preservation of trolleybuses as a means of public transport. Bulat Satarkulov is engaged in documenting the life of civil society.

It is worth reminding that deputy Kubanychbek Samakov proposed an initiative to legally restrict rallies and gatherings in Kyrgyzstan. As part of this initiative, he suggested establishing special zones for actions and expanding the authorities' powers to control the conduct of processions.
