Tragedy at the mine in Batken region: two people died

As a result of a gas leak at a mine in the Batken region, two people died, while one miner was rescued. This was reported by the press center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan.

According to the provided data, the incident at the "Batken Munay" LLC mine, located in the village of Samarkandek in the Batken district, occurred on March 7. At the time of the incident, three workers were underground at a depth of about 200 meters.

At the scene of the emergency, 13 employees of the Mountain Rescue Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations were involved, who retrieved the bodies of the two deceased and handed them over to police representatives. The third miner was successfully brought to the surface and handed over to a medical team.

In addition, 18 mine workers who suffered from carbon monoxide poisoning sought help at the Batken district hospital. According to medical staff, their condition was assessed as satisfactory.

After the rescue operations were completed, a barrier was installed at a depth of 40 meters in the mine, and the rescuers returned to their bases.
