Emergency at the "Batken Munai" Mine: Two Dead, 19 Injured

A tragedy occurred at a mine in the Batken region, resulting in the deaths of two individuals.

According to information published by the Ministry of Emergency Situations on March 8, the incident took place at the mine of the company "Batken Munai," located in the village of Samarkandek in the Batken district. A signal about a gas release and the entrapment of three workers in the mine was received by emergency services on March 7.

Thirteen specialists from the mining rescue service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations were dispatched to the scene to conduct search and rescue operations. At a depth of 200 meters, rescuers managed to locate the three employees. Unfortunately, two of them died, and their bodies were handed over to law enforcement agencies. The third victim was successfully brought to the surface and handed over to the ambulance team.

Additionally, 18 workers from the "Batken Munai" company sought medical attention at the Batken district hospital with symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning. Doctors describe the condition of the hospitalized individuals as satisfactory.

After completing the search operations, rescuers installed a protective barrier at a depth of 40 meters and returned to their bases.

According to the Ministry of Justice, the founder and director of "Batken Munai" is Gayipov Kamaldin Babaevich.
